Repeated intrusion attempts

Three days ago I started getting repeated intrusion attempts from: cobalten.com/afu.php?zoneid=1679221 (see below) whenever I would start Firefox v 61.0.2. Firefox would not go to my home page without this attempt.

Is this attempt a fault of the URL for my home page (wptv.com) or something else residing on my PC? My Symantec scans are clean, by the way.

Thanks.

Re: Repeated intrusion attempts

FWIW ~ on machine without Norton from Chrome....cobalten.com/afu.php?zoneid=1679221.....redirects to adware/malware pages.

Re: Repeated intrusion attempts

It tries to do the same thing but my question is how does cobalten run as soon as I start Firefox? Is it somehow embedded on my PC (which a Norton scan doesn't see) or is it coming from outside my ISP and latching on to my ISP address (which should be the same if I use Edge or IE, which I haven't seen this intrusion on yet)?

Re: Repeated intrusion attempts

do you run ad-blocker/scripts-control on wptv.com

try a different home page...as test

try scan with on-demand scanner ....e.g., Malwarebytes Free, AdwCleaner

Re: Repeated intrusion attempts

I've used some but will try the others and get back.
