Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

NAV detected "Trojan Horse" in exe file. When I close the warning it comes again in the next second. NAV tells the access to this file has been blocked. Excluding the folder from auto-protect did not help.

Stupid program?

Re: Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

Hello space,

Are you able to specify the complete name of the exe file and which folder you are trying to exclude?

Also which version of NAV are you using?

Thanks.

Re: Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

Hi Space,

I think you receive a pop up at the right end of your taskbar saying that Autoprotect detected a Trojan horse and has successfully blocked it.And you receive the pop up frequently. Am I right?

Floating_Red,

thanks for your help. I mean exactly the link that you posted. This link says only one sentence about the Trojan Horse virus and all other info is not specific to my problem. That applies to any virus attac. Sorry, this is no solution to the problem of repeated warning messages. The file has been blocked already. I cannot access it. Now, why does NAV repeat warnings?

Vineeth,

yes, that is the situation.

Re: Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

Ah, I see.

The reason this happens is because the Trojan keeps wanting to get on to your system and Auto-Protect keeps Blocking it; maybe a bit of s.I.P.S. as well.

Have you done a Full System Scan in Safe Mode with your Norton Product Updated via LiveUpdate?

Re: Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

Floating_Red,

does this Trojan run, even if the exe file that contains it does not start and has never been launched as it is an incomplete download???

No, I did not perform a complete scan. My disk is 160 GB.

Viruses, Trojans, e.t.c. can infect almost any file.

I would suggest that you run LiveUpdate to get the latest Updates to your Norton Product and peform a Full System Scan in Safe Mode to make sure there is nothing on your computer.  The damage Internet Threats can do, you should be doing Full System Scan at least twice-a-week; i.e. it is far better to do a F.S.S. than let a Trojan rip your computer apart [damage] and steal your I.D. which could lead to loads more trouble than it is worth if it could have been Soloved by doing a F.S.S. of you computer.

Re: Repeated warnings cannot stop!!!

To all,

thank you for your help!

After rebooting, the warning message did not come again. How long will a full system scan take (160 GB, Athlon 3500+ 1.77GHz)?
