Restore fails

I just did a Restore of a "Backup Set" or however they called it from last May before I had to reinstall Windows. Most of the files restored. Some didn't. The files that restored have a green check mark next to them and the files that didn't restore have a red X next to them. The files that did not restore are small text files (about 15).

What would cause the restore to not work on these files?  Also, is there an error message with more detail that is hidden somewhere?

Re: Restore fails

Hello JohnnyT

A reason for the restore failing can be a multitude of reasons depending on your restore choices and the files that failed to restore. In this case the best thing to do is head to https://www.norton.com/chat and request they perform a remote desktop session with you. Specifically request:

1. How can I access the onlinebackup.log file on my computer

This log will give you more detail as to what files did not restore and some info as to why. If I were to hazard a guess as to why the most common reason is if the file already exists, was in use or the path where it was being restored to was greater than 255 characters.
