At Risk - Fix now - not working

At Risk notice - Fix Now - does not work - starts then says not completed, also 360 will not scan.

Have done everything advised, updates, reboots, hidden icon scans etc etc but nothing works.

Any ideas windows 8.1

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

I have had the same problem for the past month. It says I'm at risk and to run a quick scan. I click the fix now, it pulls up the screen, blinks and says scan not complete. I've been updating every day, still won't work. I tried scheduling a scan, won't work either, or a full system.  I have Windows 7 home edition. I've tried a sysscan as one of the threads suggested, nothing happened. Right clicked in toolbar and clicked quick scan, nothing, part two. I was thinking it may be a 'me' problem, but now I see someone else is having a problem. Can anyone help me?

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

Hi Michael,

You might benefit from running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

"The Norton Remove and Reinstall tool uninstalls most Norton products, and reinstalls the latest version.

Before you proceed, make sure that you meet the following requirements:

  • You need to have an Internet connection

  • The tool does not remove Norton Utilities or Norton Family

  • The tool does not remove your Norton Identity Safe local vault

  • Norton products that are provided by the service providers like Comcast or Deutsche Telekom, will not be removed by this tool. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool."

You didn't mention which version of 360 you are running.  If for some reason you do not wish the latest version, do not follow the above, but advise us of which product version you have (Main UI > Help > About) and we'll try to provide the appropriate download link.

Let us know how you do.

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

I have 360 version 22.5.2.15 I have updated and done everything I can and as advised.

If I do the un-istall - install will I lose any of my backed up files or do they just stay in my account ?

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

Hi Michael,

It has been my experience that the backed up files and backup settings will be preserved when using the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.  During the process you may receive a prompt to Save your settings.

But it's always a good idea to make a note of the selected files in the 'What' tab under Backup Sets and the Backup Set name.

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

The Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool is for microsoft/windows. It is not for Mac/Apple. So what do Mac/Apple users do? Norton is doing the same thing on my mac.

Hello oneaglewings73

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Would you mind asking your question in the Mac Forum please? If you had posted during the week, I would ask that an Admin to move your post to it's own thread over in the Mac section of the Forum. It would then get more exposure. Thanks.

Hi Michael:

If the refresh of your N360 installation with the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool doesn't work, try the instructions in the support article My Norton product displays "Your computer and network protections are at Risk" and Fix Now displays "Fix not complete" for disabling the Win 8.x Fast Startup feature.

Re: At Risk - Fix now - not working

Hi Guys

Well after a few hours it has finally worked, the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool did not as the auto reinstall stopped as it was blocked by a Norton error which led me to another solution of uninstall separately and then full install. It was very frustrating and took over 4 hours to complete the whole thing. But now all working with no issues. I did not think that MAC/Apple had these issues ? Thanks for the support. Michael
