Rufus 3.17 & nbrt.iso will not boot on Thinkpad P15

I have been trying to run the Norton Recovery Boot Tool on my Lenovo Thinkpad P15 10th Gen i7, 32GB memory, 1TB SSD, Windows 10 Pro with all updates available as of 3/5/22, and I have not been able to boot on a USB drive.  The Thinkpad does not support legacy boot.

Using Rufus 3.17 and nbrt.iso downloaded 3/4/22

After following the Norton instructions to make NBRT USB drive, I have tried remaking the USB using many different options as suggested by ones that have had the same problem.   A boot was almost successful using the Rufus options:  GPT, UEFI (non-CSM), NTFS.  But the boot process failed with the error: Could not locate efi\boot\bootx64.efi: [14] not found.  Searching for x64 EFI bootloader

I have used Rufus with the nbrt.iso for years, on many different computers and it has always worked well and resolved many stubborn virus infections.

Any suggestions you might have are greatly appreciated!

Re: Rufus 3.17 & nbrt.iso will not boot on Thinkpad P15

Hello SA, I used Rufus 3.18 (beta) yesterday to make the NBRT. I used the defaults (MBR, BIOS or UEFI, Fat32) and the Thinkpad would not boot on this USB Drive. I disabled Secure Boot in BIOS and set the USB to be at the top of the boot list. Tried selecting the USB as the Boot Device (F12 to access menu). I retried booting at least half a dozen times. This is interesting since I used the same USB Drive when using the Windows Media Creation Tool to make a bootable USB Drive and it worked fine. And I tried 2 other USB Drives as well. I will next try making another USB Boot Drive with Rufus 3.18 and this time select GPT, UEFI (non-CSM) and Fat32. And I will try using the options GPT, UEFI (non-CSM) and NTFS. I will let you know whether it works or not. Thanks! Arthur

FYI!! Format the USB drive in FAT32 if you aren't already doing so.
