Running Norton

Does anyone know how to tell if a scan is currently running on my Windows 10 PC?

Re: Running Norton

Task Manager?  Norton will stop scanning as soon as you move your mouse though.

If it is an automatic scan like a Quick Scan after new virus definitions are downloaded you can check in Settings > Administrative Settings > Background Tasks > Configure, but this will stop the scan until the machine is idle again.  Next to either Quick Scan or Full System Scan it will show as Cancelled, which just means it is waiting for your machine to be idle again.

You can also check the graphs by double clicking the Performance tab of the main Norton GUI > Graphs > Usage, but there is a bug where some people have reported Norton crashing when clicking Usage, so I'm avoiding doing that for now.  It will show a yellow graphic where Norton is or has been using your CPU.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.
