Safe Web Display

What is the main difference between the Norton Secured "Yellow circle with a black check mark" and Site is Safe "Green circle with white OK"?  The last few days I've noticed a lot of routine websites are now Yellow Circles, even some HTTPS sites.  Shouldn't the HTTPS sites have the green circle? Even this Community site is now showing a yellow circle instead of the normal green circle.

Re: Safe Web Display

If you hover over each one - you'll see the difference in a popup.

Rather than post screen shots of the popup -here is a link showing each one:

Green:  http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=http:%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsupport%2Fforum%2Fp%2FWeb%2520Search%2Fthread%3Ftid=13880c471b994de4%26hl=en

Orange: http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=http:%2F%2Fwww.symantec.com%2Fabout%2Fnews%2Frelease%2Farticle.jsp%3Fprid=19981215_03

Also if you look at the top of each page, you'll see the Shoopping Cart mentioned and it's disappearance explained - you may remember it also.

Re: Safe Web Display

Hi PC_confused,

Sites that are Norton Secured are VeriSign trusted.  VeriSign issues SSL certificates and authenticates shopping sites, and is a Symantec company.  The Norton Secured rating corresponds to the old Norton Authenticated green shield icon.

Re: Safe Web Display

I guess that is the safe display difference between "Shopping Sites" and "Regular Sites".  Thanks for the information..
