scans detext viruses that can't be deleted: seagoing, rlistupdater and assetschanger

First time to post in the forum! Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide!

Complete scans detect three viruses, named in thread title, present that cannot be deleted. They are part of archives according to Mac Security information.

Also, I frequently get a warning which says, "system infected ADWA 80." What does this refer to? Trojan, other malware?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi.

You probably should have posted this in Norton for Mac, as this forum is for PCs.  Anyway, when you say "archives according to Mac security information", are you really referring to Norton Security History? If so and you find the viruses listed under Quarantine in Norton Security History, then it means they have been captured by Norton and no longer pose a threat to your machine.

I'm not sure about ADWA.  Sounds like a piece of adware to me.

Hello jsassman

Please do not try to remove these malware on your own. Please visit one of the free malware removal sites. Please stay with them until your computer is declared clean. Here is the list of sites.

Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.

I've already found a solution that resolved the problem for my Macintosh computers. The app that does the trick is called malwarebytes anti-malware. I've posted over in the Macintosh forums with this solution. Thanks for your help!
