Secure VPN region incorrect

Norton Secure VPN does not work properly and Norton Support unable to address. E-mail does not work if region is set correctly. Have to set region to Canada for e-mail in USA to work. But then other apps, e.g., browser and Apple update indicate incorrect region. If VPN region is art correctly, then browser and Apple update indicate correct location but e-mail not work. Keep getting nowhere with support and it looks like many others have this problem. Norton support wants to remotely control and modify my Mac computer. When they did that before, computer was corrupted - took me time and effort to recover - and problem not addressed. Dead end with Norton. Need to change security provider.
