security

Security and data breeches are frequent these days, which makes me leary of online backup. Why should I trust Norton online backup? Can it back up encrypted files from my computer (as in an encrypted drive) or from programs such as Quicken, Sookasa, etc.? Is the data encrypted before leaving my computer and remain encrypted on Norton servers? Is the encryption greater than 256 bit encryption?

Re: security

pt53 Welcome to the forums. Answering your questions. Yes. One of the features of Norton’s Online Backup is that it provides Government-grade Encryption which is 256-bit SSL encryption while your files are being sent over the Internet, and 256-bit AES “government-grade” encryption while your files are stored on Symantec’s secured servers. I have provided a link to the most current product videos that should answer all your concerns.

Re: security

It will not backup previously encrypted files on your system, however.
