Settings Tab Unresponsive

Prior to carrying out a System Restore, I find the Settings tab has become unresponsive so am unable to turn off Tamper Protection.  This has not happened before.

Re: Settings Tab Unresponsive

Hello Lotus John

When you do a System Restore, Norton usually gets broken. I would recommend that you use the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool to give you a fresh version of the program. Please remember to run Live Update until you have all the downloads, restarting as needed. Once it is all done, then restart one more time.

The latest version is 22.8.1.14.

Thanks.

Re: Settings Tab Unresponsive

Thanks for that.  I already have version 22.8.1.14. For some reason the Settings tab works again today and I have been able to disable Tamper Protection prior to doing a System Restore.  Frustratingly System Restore is now not working as used to be the case whenever I forgot to disable Tamper Protection!

Re: Settings Tab Unresponsive

@Lotus John:

This page contains detailed info re "(Norton) Tamper Protection" vs. "Windows System Restore".

Prior to carrying out a (Windows) System Restore, I find the (Windows') Settings tab has become unresponsive (right?)...

And...

This (your) problem can happen (again) due to a security feature in your Norton product that prevents outside programs from making changes to the Norton product.

Personally, you do not need to run the said Norton Remove and Reinstall tool above. For more info, you may review this demo re "0x800700b7/0x80070057 error fix".

For more info, you may Chat with Norton Support.

Please post back if this or any other comment solves your problem. THX...
