"Setup not complete"

For quite some time now I have been getting the "Setup not complete" despite allowing Full Disc Access as requested. I was rather hoping the issue would have been resolved with the move to MacOS14 but unfortunately not. It's not bad enough that the pop up appears but it kills my network connection meaning I have to restart the computer to get back online and this is not always convenient. I have seen the solution proposed for MacOS13 but don't understand why I have to constantly go into settings to grant access. Why doesn't it remember?

Repeated Norton Full Disk Access prompt appears when you open Norton on macOS 13 or later
Your Norton product repeatedly prompts you to allow and enable Full Disk Access, even after enabling it on your Mac. It is an operating system issue that occurs whenever you open your existing Norton product after upgrading your operating system to macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

If you have upgraded your operating system to macOS 13 Ventura, remove and enable the Norton System Extension again to avoid receiving repeated Norton Full Disk Access prompts.

If you have upgraded your operating system to macOS 14 Sonoma, enable the Norton System Extension again.

Even after enabling the Norton System Extension on macOS 14 Sonomo, you may still see a repeated Full Disk Access prompt whenever you open Norton after a system restart. It is an operating system issue, and we are working on getting this issue fixed.

If you have an Intel Macbook macOS 14 Sonoma it's not fixable (yet) As BJM_ said they are working on it.

If you don't have an Intel Macbook, try uninstall with RMAC:

I am using a Mac mini with M2 chip if that helps

All: The M2 MAC is ARM based as is the M1. The given solution from Norton for Norton installs on upgraded machines is below:

Is Rosetta installed on the machine?

Done all that but keep getting the message. I am resigned to just having to keep giving permission to remove the popup.

Have you tried uninstalling with RMAC, like my suggestion before? If you install properly after it should fix your problem

Done all that. Thanks for your help but i'll just leave it and hope Norton produce a patch.

I have M2 Max MacBook Pro 16 and it's working fine. You don't need Rosetta as Norton natively supports M1/M2 chips. Maybe uninstall, remove Norton files and re-install will fix your issue?

Thanks for the info but done all that and still have to allow full disc access every time I use the computer. Tried reinstalling MacOS but no difference. If it wasn't for the fact that i've just renewed my subscription I would ditch Norton all together.

hmm, if you have tried all of that then you should contact Norton support via chat. They might remotely connect to your machine to help you.

I discussed it with support (telephone and chat) last year when the issue first arose under Ventura and I had an iMac but they kept sending me .exe files and couldn't understand why they wouldn't work. As long as I remember to set disc access path ehe start of the session I'll be OK.

Exe file is for Windows and will not run on Mac. You should tell them that you use Mac. Try again, if I were you, I would contact Norton chat support because it's working fine on our Macs.

I made it quite clear that I use a Mac but I'm afraid I have little patience for subcontinental support staff who can only work from a script. If there was a way to guarantee getting someone in the UK ten maybe I would try again. I'll try a clean install over the weekend but don't hold out much hope. Thanks for your help.
