'SIM card lock disabled' - since today's update

Since the app update today, the anti-theft section displays only 75% amber reading with the notification that the SIM lock isn't enabled. My Samsung Tab A does not have a SIM lock to my knowledge, so I'm stuck with this annoying problem in the Norton Security app display as described above. I'm not happy. In fact, I'm furious. I have wasted my time this morning trying to fix the notification and satisfy your app's requirements by enabling a SIM lock. I'm so sick of Norton just barging into my tablet, via an update, then ruining my Saturday by dumping even more phaffing about onto me. As from when I get home, Norton's software will be uninstalled from all my devices and a competitor installed. I have been a continuous Norton customer for 25 years, but today Norton's tampering has outdone their worthyness. Thank you Norton for ruining my weekend - at a cost of £79 per year. No more.

Re: 'SIM card lock disabled' - since today's update

I too have a Tab A, and see the warning you see. If you tap on the warning, you may see what I see on my tablet. The setting that is presented to fix the warning is actually the Security Wipe for after 10 incorrect login attempts. No mention of SIM card. On my phone, it just shows the SIM card warning, but both the SIM card and Security Wipe settings are off.

This seems to be a UI issue that I will report to my Norton contacts. The warning on the main page should correctly state which setting is turned off. Or maybe no detail, and have the details provided when you tap on the warnings.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Noticed this pop up tonight. I figured it must have something to do with the update. Would be great if Norton could this fixed.

Re: 'SIM card lock disabled' - since today's update

Although it is nice to see all sections at 100%, as long as you understand that a given percentage is 'normal' for your device, you should be good to go.

Having said that, I have reported this to Norton and hope they come up with some solution for this warning. Maybe allow the user to ignore the SIM warning if the user has knowingly kept that setting turned off.

@Shannonm93  and @g9nesis  (if you are still with us)

An update to NMS is being released now that seems to have fixed this issue with the warning about a non existing SIM card.

It works for my Tab A. The update is to version.  4.1.1.4117.   Let us know how it goes for you.

The release is in a phased manner, so if you cannot get it right away, keep trying. It should be available to all users by the end of the week.
