Is this site safe?

I want to find out whether this site is legitimate.

http:// www. unemployment-assist .com/index_adwords.html

And

http:// unemploymentclaims .org/ california-unemployment?utm_source= bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term= adcopy&utm_campaign= search-unemployment-california-kwd&utm_source= bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term= adcopy&utm_campaign= search- unemployment-california-kwd

I made a mistake of filling in a lot of info. I gave the last 4 digits of my SSN# and birthday. When they asked for my credit card, I stopped. I want to make sure they are all valid sites, not the kind of scam sites.

Thanks

Re: Is this site safe?

If you are in California, you simply need to go to the California Employment Development Department to file for unemployment benefits and obtain information on finding jobs.

If you want to check a web site you can submit it to   www.virustotal.com

Re: Is this site safe?

Thanks Peterweb

I ran the www.virustotal.com. It seems ok. Does this mean the site is legit? That I don't have to worry?

Thanks

Re: Is this site safe?

It may be a legitimate site, but virustotal only checks for malware or phishing sites. But even with this, it could still be a scam site that has not been detected. Where did you learn of this site?

I cannot tell you whether this is a trustworthy site. Maybe if you contact the actual unemployment department where you live, they can shed some light on that site.

@YungmanLiu:

Norton Safe Web Report for unemployment-assist.com is OK at the time of commenting. Meantime, you can follow SendOfJive's suggestion above.
