Smart Firewall Blocking Win 10 Hyper-V VM Internet

I have installed both Norton Security and Hyper-V on my Windows 10 Pro machine.  Internet works from the Windows machine.  When I create a virtual machine there is no internet.  If I temporarily disable Smart Firewall then internet works on the virtual machine.  As soon as the Smart Firewall in enabled then internet stops working on the virtual machine.

What are the settings needed in the Smart Firewall to allow the virtual machine to pass traffic through to the internet?  Are there specific rules, ports, services, or devices that need to be allowed?

Thank you for any help provided.

Re: Smart Firewall Blocking Win 10 Hyper-V VM Internet

Hello JJ5, have you reset the Norton firewall and allowed the Hyper-V to reattempt connections? Also, look at the following settings: Norton Internet Security > Settings >   Network >  Smart Firewall >  Trust Control [configure +]
and there I add the trust rules for VMs. I also included a MS article regarding VM's. Changing your Trust Control should do the trick though.

Cheers

Re: Smart Firewall Blocking Win 10 Hyper-V VM Internet

My Norton does not have an option for "Trust Control", only Network Trust (related to the WiFi connection) and Device Trust (blank).  Using Device Trust I put in the VM network adapter MAC address and that seems to have fixed the problem.  Thanks for the hint to point me in the right direction!
