SolidWorks Issue

I have a problem with SolidWorks Student Edition that is installed on my child's laptop. Whenever my child is logged in and Norton Family is turned on, SolidWorks will not load. If I turn Norton Family off for my child's account, or log in as a non-monitored user, SolidWorks will load. When it is not working, SolidWorks will freeze on the initial splash screen and say "Loading registry..." However, from my research, the problem seems to be that the software is unable to reach the SolidWorks company license server that validates the software each time it loads. Norton Family never logs any blocked activity, and repeated attempts to use phone and chat support with Norton have not been helpful. Can you please test this, verify that there is a problem, and let me know what to do?

Re: SolidWorks Issue

SoulAsylum: Thanks for the suggestion, but Norton Family is not reporting that it has blocked anything. In fact, we have tried allowing all categories and it still exhibits the same issue. It is only when we turn Norton Family off that the SolidWorks software begins working. The issue is very similar to one reported by other users about Minecraft resource files being blocked without any record of the files being blocked. In that case, Norton had issue an update to fix it.

Re: SolidWorks Issue

Rajesh: Thank you for looking into the issue. I am still unable to get the two programs to work together. Please, let me know when you figure it out. As I said in another reply in this thread, the problem seems very similar to another issue reported about Norton Family blocking Minecraft resource files from downloading for which Norton released a software update.
