Some commercial sites not accessible with VPN turned on

I just got informed of the name change from WiFi Privacy to Secure VPN (Case #37079998) and was also told that the rebranded product would start automatically, just as it had been doing.  My bad for not looking here first to find there are known problems with that.

While looking around here, I also have not found anything that indicates others are having this particular problem, which seems strange.  I have had this with mostly my W10 computer, and still at least one site using my iPhone.  (By the way, congratulations for automatically updating the iPhone software, that went smoothly.)   Anyway, I simply turn off the VPN when I need to access a site and am unable to, then I can access it just fine.  There must be some preliminary handshaking dialog that takes place that sites aren't completely up to date with because I have noticed that gradually I am able to access them with the VPN turned on.  Perhaps there could be a diagnostic log generated and fed back to Norton that would allow an alternate approach for connection, all I know is that it doesn't do me any good to query the site and report connectivity problems because all they tell me is the standard 'clear cache and restart, it is my problem and everything is perfect on their site'.

The one site this is a problem for using either iPhone or laptop is Vitacost.com, which I can only access by turning VPN off.  I have other sites that my phone accesses properly but my laptop does not, currently Publix.com is the most frequently used one because I get a weekly advertising email from them, I just can't successfully click on the links.

Re: Some commercial sites not accessible with VPN turned on

There are some sites that can detect a VPN being used, and will block access for some reason. It could be legal reasons if you are not in the same country as the site you are visiting.

Contact the web site where you see the problem to see if they block VPNs.

One of the features of Norton's VPN is that it does not log your information use. So this is not going to happen.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

apiservices.krxd.net’s server IP address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

This is all I get back, and I have shared it with the customer service people at Publix, they said they passed it up the chain to their tech services people and just got confirmation that everything was wonderful on their side.  I did not know then and did not mention that it was an access attempt via VPN, maybe that bit of information will help.  I will try passing that to them, thanks!
