spam problem?

using NIS 17.1.0.19 & outlook 2007. For some reason, spam to me is not spam to NIS - even tho I report it as spam everytime it comes in..... I'm getting some virus alerts from which I tried unsubscibing - but it didn't work for some reason lol and since, I've been selecting it as spam - but every time the email comes in - it's not even moved/removed....... looks like the report as spam feature is useless as it does not work - you cannot teach your NIS anything ;/ any ideas?

Re: spam problem?

What is your Email connection using?  POP3, IMAP, SSL, Exchange?  Do you have any other Spam filters being used; are there any filters being used by your ISP (even if you turn this option off, your ISP may still be filtering the email anyway; just not marking it as Spam but the header will be changing no the less)?

I have had similar problems with the AS in NIS2010 and would like to see if we can help you out here.

Re: spam problem?

cinek -

Norton AntiSpam in NIS2010 only supports POP3 or SMTP scanning; it does not work on IMAP, SSL or Exchange type email transports.
