ssd and optimization

My Norton "Fix" keeps telling me I need to optimize my disk, but I have a ssd that should not be optimized. How do I stop Norton from asking me to optimize?

Re: ssd and optimization

Norton products call the Windows optimization routines. Here is some information on the Windows defrag and SSDs.

You can turn off Norton's disk optimization in Settings - Tasks Scheduling.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: ssd and optimization

You would also need to disable it @ Settings > Administrative Settings > Idle Time Optimizer > Off > Apply.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Re: ssd and optimization

Disk Optimization on a SSD will run the TRIM  command and does not do a defrag.

I have it turned off in Norton and use the settings in Windows to do what I want.
