Re: Stop Norton Advertising

Do you have "Special Offer Notification" setting set in your Norton product set to off? Disable it and reboot, that should stop MOST but not all marketing popups. The only real way to not see the marketing BS in software these days is just not installing it.

Re: Stop Norton Advertising

I am done with Norton after 10 years. I just shut off auto renewal and will be using another product at end of my subscription. Your marketing pop ups and emails finished it for me.

BTW Turning "Special Offer Notification" to "Off" does nothing to stop the spam so stop recommending it as a "fix".

Re: Stop Norton Advertising

Turning off Special Offer Notifications isn't suggested as a "fix" my friend, it prevents MOST, not all special offerings from showing up in your inbox. FWIW!! I don't work for Norton, I donate my time here assisting as many others do. Asking pertinent questions is the avenue to know what settings you have set and ones you do not. Otherwise when assisting we are in the dark because more times than not, that information isn't brought forward in the original postings.

The popup issues are marketing, and, hard coded into the product, sell-ups. There is absolutely nothing we can do about it, Norton isn't going to do so either. As with many other companies products, which act in a likewise manner, the only real way to make the sell-up harassment disappear is uninstall the product. I'm not sure if that is an acceptable trade-off, although, your mileage will vary.

FWIW!! I went from Norton 360 to my current product of Norton Security Ultra for the very reasons you and others are aggravated about. Marketing constantly blasting Windows every time I logged on and when browsing. My current product DOES NOT have those issues. I also DO NOT have any payment information stored within my Norton account other than what is absolutely required to keep my subscription active. I don't receive snail mail nor e-mail marketing BS any longer. Just a thought. Sometimes "dialing things down" to a different product makes all the difference.
