Stopping idle time activities

Okay so my computer has been freezing a lot recently and since I started plugginf it into my tv, I noticed that when it would freeze it always had the idle time activity box in the corner (The screen on my laptop just wouldn't come on before. Even though it had frozen, because it was still plugged in to my tvs vga it was still outputting the image of the frozen desktop.) This is a problem because my computer is constantly doing something, even if I'm not here. Basically, I want to prevent anything that only runs when my computer is idle. I already turned off the "Idle Time Optimizer" and still have the same problem.

Re: Stopping idle time activities

Go to the Task Scheduler, and change the settings from Automatic to Manual. This will stop scan from running in your computer when the computer goes to idle mode. Make sure that you run LiveUpdate, and full system scan in every 3-4 days.

Stupid me put this in the wrong forum, I actually have Internet Security/Anti-Virus. Still looking for an answer, though.

Re: Stopping idle time activities

If you set it on SILENT mode for a period longer than the TV session that might help.

I'll ask for a move ....

There is a specific Forum for NIS/NAV so I'll ask for your message to be moved over there or better exposure. You won't lose sight of it because a link will be left here.

But which do you have just for background?
