A strange renewal experience
A month ago my credit card number was stolen and I had to get a new one. A few weeks ago, as I was preparing for a trip, I got a notice that my Norton security would be automatically renewing. Well I knew that wasn't going to work since I had a new credit card number, but I was too busy to do anything about it so I figured I'd deal with it when I got back. When I got back I got an email that my renewal had happened that day. So I waited another day for the expected: "Oops - actually the payment didn't go through", but no such email arrived. So I just logged into my Norton account and see that it now has my brand new credit card number and expiration date listed under billing - though I never had time to do that myself. Somehow they just automagically obtained it. Well that is both "convenient" and somewhat creepy. Is this "automation" a feature of Norton and Lifelock getting together?
