Strange Update Email Notifications

Among the email notifications for updates for my subscriptions, today I also found nine “strange”

emails.

They all refer to messages from Gayathri_R (Administrator),

5 in Forum Product Suggestions, 5 different threads,

4 in Forum Tech Outpost, 4 different threads.

Dates vary, from 12-06-2012 to 03-04-2013.

They all contain only the Subject while I changed the Email content to Subject and Body a few days ago

(in fact since then I have been receiving the emails containing both Subject and Body, correctly).

Clicking the link that should take me to the message, it takes me to the Board instead - Product  Suggestion or Tech Outpost - and there I am unable to find such “new” messages in the respective threads, they have disappeared …

The 5 emails regarding Product Suggestions have been sent out today, at 06:06 PM my time = 9:06 AM your time,

the 4 regarding Tech Outpost, a minute later, 06:07 PM my time =  9:07 AM your time.

Is the above just an innocuous malfunction or do I have to worry ?

Thanks.

P.S. Note that after this wave of “strange” emails, I did receive other “normal” email.

Re: Strange Update Email Notifications

Hi Rainbow,

Just thinking here .. your registration date is 10-09-2012. Could you have done any posting in those threads or boards after registering.

Sometimes users will dig out buried threads and post, as long as the particular thread hasn't been locked after 60 or so days of inactivity.

Administrators and moderators can edit, move, delete post in threads if they are found to be inappropriate, or getting too much off topic. The mods move threads all the time to the correct boards for better exposure for a users issue.

Per your post in another thread, you just recently went to Subject and Body for your subscriptions. These emails you just received and their dates, were when you had only Subject enabled.

I really don't think you have anything to worry over from email coming from Norton Community. Now that you have your email subscription settings squared away, there shouldn't be anymore problems.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for replying.

Yes, I registered on 10-09-2012 but due to a problem with my Sign In password, I  wasn’t able to access the Community until around January 20. Note that three of these “strange” emails notify a New Message dated 12-06-2012,  12-16-2012, 01-09-2013, definitely not following any subscriptions on my part…

"Per your post in another thread, you just recently went to Subject and Body for your subscriptions. These emails you just received and their dates, were when you had only Subject enabled."

I changed to Subject and Body on ‎04-07-2013.

All nine “strange” e-mails (containing Subject only) are dated 04-12-2013,  thus they should contain Body as well, but they don’t.

(The varying dates from 12-06-2012 to 03-04-2013 I mentioned in my previous post, are the dates of the “New Message” for which I’m being notified).

This is an example of how all nine emails look like, obviously they differ in

I “want” to think the same as you, however I’d appreciate knowing it for sure...

I posted all possible details hoping that people in charge (read Norton Staff) could confirm it or not.

I don’t mind a malfunction of the “system” , while I mind not being sure about it (it does not seem to me to be asking much ).

Many thanks again.

Laura

Edit: if you click the link in the mail you will see that - as said in my previous post - it takes you to the Board, but you won't be able to find the message, nor its thread (NAV 2013 and Windows 7 32bit Bug), at least I wasn't...
