Stream video/downloading problems

Earlier this week I installed Norton Internet Security 2010 and even during the install I started to notice problems with downloading.  I found out right after streaming video doesn't seem to work anymore either, it hangs up randomly after it starts to stream and won't complete.  Its basically the exact same issue as reported under this thread:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Program-download-problems-after-installation-of-Norton-Internet/m-p/51136/highlight/true#M26612

However none of the suggestions in that thread have fixed the problem.  I tried turning all of the norton items off to see if that would work and it didn't.  I tried uninstalling norton through control panel Add/Remove programs and that didn't work either, it still left the problem.

I'm currently running Windows XP and am up to date on patches (that'd put me under SP3 i think).  Any recommendations?  I'm using Firefox and it is up to date, along with the flash player.

I can try listing all of the services and applications that are running later once I'm back home.

Re: Stream video/downloading problems

Im just throwing this out there but for me last weeks microsoft updates crippled my flashplayer. I had to go back to v 3 after fully removing the flash 4 with ccleaner. I found it out by calling netflix and they helped me iron out what was what. On some machines this appears to be an issue, dont know if microsoft will patch or not. Perhaps this isnt your issue if not Im sorry to waste your time just wanted to put it out there. I would ask you if youre running any other live updated security with norton (you cant it will mess with it). Did you use specific tools from whatver other kind of security you had to remove it even after you used control panel to remove? I run xp sp3 too.
