Subscription Ques.

Currently have NIS2009 and NSW2009 installed. At the bottom of the main page for NIS show the number of days remaining on my subscription. Does a new day start at 12:01am minus the previous day total? For example say I have 100 days left as of today. When
I log  on tomorrow shouldn't the days remaining display 99 days left?

Re: Subscription Ques.

Perhaps that depends on where you are or where the servers are located or whether everything runs on Zulu Time ?

Never thought about that. I wonder if Norton uses Zulu time for their servers. I am on the East Coast.

Me too -- hence the Pelican -- but I don't worry about hours of subscription time!

Re: Subscription Ques.

On 03-08-09 I replaced the CMOS battery on my MB. When I booted back up went into the system BIOS to update the date and time.
About 5 mins later Norton popped up saying my subscription had expired. I orginally installed both Norton products on 01-30-09. I had to
reenter my Product number which I did. I checked my subscription status a week later and something didn't look right.
03-16 320 days remaining
03-17 318 days (should have been 319)
03-18 318 days (never changed) Shut down last night at 1945 EDT

This morning when I booted up at 0415 I went to my Norton homepage and still showed 318 days left. I had to click the Help&Support tab
Subscription Status to connect to the Symantec server and it changed my days left to 317. I just don't why this is not being done as an
auto function to show my current status.

Re: Subscription Ques.

I don't fully follow your account but it is known that if the system time and the time on the Symantec server are out of step then the days left goes wrong and Symatec has a synchonization tool which you can either access on their website manually or via the One Step as you found out.

Re: Subscription Ques.

Update, Nine days ago when I was having this problem I ran Live Update and it found 1 update which I applied. So for the past nine days my days remaining have been correct  so I guess the problem  has been corrected.

Re: Subscription Ques.

The subscription probably also changes after a update
