Support for macOS 11 Big Sur

Installer Norton 360 is not working ...

This seems by far the only app not working with Big Sur ...

I reported this to Dropbox, their installer was not working too, they fixed it in only 2 days, Norton should do better, maybe a Norton Beta could help !?

Re: Support for macOS 11 Big Sur

Hello again. Big Sur support is in the pipeline. The current Norton product is obviously not compatible due to, as posted before. BS is presently Public BETA 2. Norton will not support it officially with a compatible product release until they have fully vetted all the BETA changes to incorporate those into the Norton product when the official public release takes place. Big Sur is scheduled for release this fall per Apple. Stay tuned to the Norton for MAC boards for official information and release notice.

macOS Big Sur is limited to developers at the current time, but Apple plans to release a public beta in July. macOS Big Sur will be released in the fall, and it will be a free update for all compatible Macs.

Cheers

A Norton Beta would be highly appreciated ...

Re: Support for macOS 11 Big Sur

The latest Norton release 8.5.8 is showing as compatible with MAC OSX 10.10.xxx and above ONLY!! So the installer will indeed fail if that is the case. Allow me to port this thread to an Admin and the Norton MAC team to see where things stand with a release for Big Sur. FWIW!! Norton most likely WON'T release a BETA due to the liabilities that are associated with that.

Re: Support for macOS 11 Big Sur

Actually, the article states 10.10.xxxx with no mention that Big Sur is 11.0 beta 2 (20A4300b) (July 7, 2020; 1 day ago). Being BETA Norton won't OFFICIALLY support it until a final release is made as they don't officially support insider releases of Windows as well. I hope to hear something straight forward from the Norton team soon. I will certainly pass that along ASAP!!

Re: Support for macOS 11 Big Sur

This is Kafka. Apple releases bèta’s so software developers could prepare their programs to become compatible and to test the new possibilities. As Norton is farmost one of the only programs NOT compatible with Big Sur I would expect a little more devotion from Norton developers to hurry up with their development. As I already told, Dropbox was not working neither. I reported that to them, and it took them just 2 days to develop a working solution again. I expect from Norton nothing less ... Pls wake up and don’t hide after ridiculous statements about beta releases and sign up for a developers account with Apple !!
