Support Vendor? Hacked my PC
In trying to download my new subscription of Norton 360 to my other laptop, I was unable to do so. The support person asked to sign on to my computer which I allowed him to do. Following the download failure, he scanned my pc and said my IP addresses had been hacked and my computer had many viruses on it which was why I could not load Norton 360. He then offered a five year contract for $399. I said I did not want to spend that much on old pc and he gave me his name and telephone number and signed off. The computer went into reboot mode and failed. I have not been able to get beyond the Windows error recover screen and it will not come up in safe mode. I think this support vendor must have been a scam and perhaps not related to SYMANTEC but I am not sure. Norton did not make me aware of issues with going to their download site but now I need a solution as to how to get my pc to boot windows vista or get on the network so I can run corrective applications.
