Symdaemon taking over(?!?) 100% CPU

Hi - I've had this issue on and off for the last several weeks.  I get these issues where Activity monitor is showing symdaemon process taking upwards of 181% - not sure even what that means unless it's 100% on CPU core 1 and 81% on core 2 or something.  Really really slowing down the machine.  I saw similar post from about 6 weeks ago that sounded like issue was solved but I've run Live Update, updated everything to latest versions, and I'm still regularly experiencing this problem.  I'm using the Norton suite provided to Comcast customers -  not sure exactly what version that is.  Attached is the "sample" of the process from activity monitor - would appreciate any other help!  Thanks!

Please let us know if the issue is fixed after running LiveUpdate and restarting when prompted. This issue was report some time back and a fix was posted. 

Again, please let us know if this issue is not fixed.
