System Detects Trojan, but an IP Address gets Blocked Right After

For the past few days, I've been getting notified that my system got infected with a Trojan.Zbot gen15. However, right after that, I get a message along the lines of, "The client will block traffic from IP Address ------------- for the next 600 seconds." Those aren't the exact words of the message, but I've been receiving something similar. I was told that I shouldn't worry about it because that means Symantec is doing its job, but should I be worried anyway? If I should, what should I do? I've done multiple scans, but no risks and/or viruses were detected.

I've never seen that type of message before, but even though scans have shown nothing, you may want to register with one of the free malware removal sites we recommend, to check that your system IS clean.

Pick one, and stay with that expert until you are declared malware free.

There is a setting that allows your computer to block a computer that has attacked you for a certain time period. There is a slider where you can pick the time limit of the block.

It seemed like F4E didn't know what that setting was, so I was trying to tell him that. I know what the setting is....

I know you know.  Your reply Permalink was not addressed to anyone.  Didn't know who you were talking to.

Re: System Detects Trojan, but an IP Address gets Blocked Right After

Hi, flo. I have my AutoBlock setting set to one hour, and have done since 2002.

That way I figure I have time to see what's causing that message, which as I've said, I've never seen.

Luck, or safe practices ?

Hello

I have never personally seen the message either, but just know about such messages.
