"System Infected: Trojan.Dropper Activity 3" keeps being detected but Power Eraser isn't removing.

5 days ago I was conned Into downloading something turned out to be some sort of Malicious Trojan software.

From then on, every few minutes a Norton pop-up would say "Norton Blocked an Attack by: System Infected: Trojan.dropper Activity 3." it would suggest Norton Power Eraser but all that is doing now is deleting random games from my computer and is now trying (and failing) to delete my entire Steam file from program files.

I know it's not working because despite doing nothing but deleting my entire Steam library, my C: drive is slowly filling up. A full scan doesn't show anything wrong either; A Full Scan, doesn't detect ANYTHING, that has happened, Security history however, has, it even shows the IP of the other Computer that's attacking as well as the suspected websites.

You could try something like Malwarebytes or Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool. Maybe they could detect something.

Hello @Chilly If you can and know how boot your system into "Safe Mode" WITHOUT networking which will stop outside traffic and anything updating from external sources. Here is an "How To" article on how to do this in Windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

In the "run" box type MRT.exe and run it. See if that will nail this pest and eradicate it once and for good. Please post your results here if you'd be so kind.

Re: "System Infected: Trojan.Dropper Activity 3" keeps being detected but Power Eraser isn't removing.

A full system search showed that very few files were infected and MRT I suppose got rid of them for me, but I'll tell you why there's such a small number, and I'm sorry to say that I tried a rather drastic aproach to removing it -

I went into my C: drive's search bar typed in "C" (which showed me every file in the drive) and selected 6/4/17 (the day it started) in the 'Date Created' drop-down, from this I found "client32.exe" (which quite obviously was the root) and deleted it.

The next part I suppose should not be suggested, was selecting EVERY file created after that day (selecting 6/4/17 to 11/4/17) and straight up deleting them. I could sacrifice this due to the computer only being a Laptop I use to play games but only the files listed by the Norton Power Eraser were effected (the big ones being Steam and Google Chrome).

I did all that before reading the response I got here, so sorry about the trouble but thankyou for showing me the 'Malicious Software Removale Tool' anyway, it'll be my Go-To for the next time something similar happens. :D
