Systemworks 2005 found w32netsky virus but can't fix or delete

After running a full system scan the following threat alert was generated.

Source: document_4351.pif
Description: The compressed file document_4351.pif within C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-448539723-879983540-725345543-1004\Dc89.cab is infected with the W32.Netsky.D@mm virus.
Click for more information about this threat : W32.Netsky.D@mm

At the link above, it says removal is easy but I can't remove it. I downloaded a file from the internet to delete it but it didn't even detect it.

I called Norton online support and they were going to charge me $99 to repair it. This computer is about 5 years old. Do you have any other suggestions on removing the virus?

First of all please send the file to Symantec.

Please follow the instructions here to see if you can find any suspicious files loading. These files can then be submitted for analysis here.

Second of all please try the following.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Than

Please download SuperAntispyware from Here , the free version will do the trick

Double Click superantispyware.exe to install the application.
  • Just download it to your desktop, then click Finish.

  • Once the program has loaded, select "Scan your computer", then click Perform complete Scan .
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, Superantispyware will show all the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
