Re: temporary disable

Unblock safe apps by temporarily turning off your Norton protection
In some cases, your Norton product may block a suspected activity on your computer that matches a security threat behavior. These activities may include download of a file, auto-sync of mobile device with your desktop computer, or Internet access to an application. You may also receive repeated notifications to restart your computer.

If you know that the activity or application that trigger these notifications are safe, you can temporarily turn off Norton protection for a specified duration.

Turning off Norton protection leaves your computer vulnerable to attacks. If you want to turn it off for troubleshooting a problem, make sure that you turn it on again.

Note: Disable Auto-Protect & Disable Smart Firewall does not turn off Intrusion Prevention, Browser Protection, Data Protector nor Exploit Prevention.

If you're seeing Download Cancelled -> disable Norton Safe Web browser extension

If you have the VPN enabled, the site you are downloading from may be blocking you. Many web sites do not allow access from known VPN IP addresses. They do this for copyright, legal, security, and political reasons. There is nothing a VPN provider can or should do to circumvent these legal protections.

Re: temporary disable

You can only turn off the firewall and auto protect features of 360 by right clicking on the Norton icon in the task bar and turning off those features. The only way to fully disable Norton is to uninstall.

Why do you need to disable Norton?
