Time Limits

I recently installed Online Family on the 3 PCs that my kids use. They are all set up with seperate user acounts for each family member. I assume once the limit is reached on one computer my child should not be able to just switch to another computer. When my son reached his limit today I check on the other PCs and they showed he still had his full time allotment left. Am I missing something?

Re: Time Limits

I can't get the time online for any of my accounts. I have checked the settings and it does kick them of when they reach the limits I set but it doesn't show any activity for any of the kids. My Norton Safety Mointor is 1.0.3.18.

I read on the forum that the time on one computer is supposed to carry over to  all the other computers. So the kids shouldn't be able to jump from one machine to another and reset the clock.

Hey Norton folks, I know this is a beta version and has the potential to be a great product for our techno kids. But can you tweak the time so we can limit the online time to less then an hour? I set a 30 minute limit, outside of homework, on school days.

Re: Time Limits

Hello higgi88,

Thank you for your question. At this time, the behavior that you are experiencing is to be expected. Currently, OnlineFamily.Norton does not cumulatively add up the time a child spends on multiple PCs, thus it does not prevent them from exhausting their allowed time on one machine and then changing to another monitored computer. If this does happen, the child will have the same period of time to be on second computer as if they had not already done so at the first. This is something that we are aware of will will be addressing in a future release.

Thank you.

Re: Time Limits

Jason,

Is the "no activity" on the timer also a know problem or am  I doing something wrong?

Beta test stuff, It should be more clear as to what needs to be installed on each computer the kids have access to.  I downloaded the program on my office computer, most space available, and didn't realize I needed to setup my kids on the computer downstairs.  Now it seems like a "duh, yea" thing but I only went to the web address showing the access, https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/loginStart.fs, and of course it showed the activity on my office computer but nothing from the downstairs computer. An easy fix but not clear from the original download. Fantastic product!

Re: Time Limits

Hello MorrisRR1,

The Time tab within the Activity section will indeed display 'No Activity...' if the child has not either reached their allotted daily time limit or attempted to sign on during blocked hours(both configurable by the parent under Settings==>Time).  In either of these events, this area would display an Alert notifying you that this has occurred.

Also, we very much appreciate your feedback.  Thank you.

Re: Time Limits

Any ETA on when this issue will be addressed? Three kids, Three computers, they just keep playing musical chairs.
