Time not counted in Windows 8 'Metro' mode?

I have a suspicion that my kid's allocated time is not used/counted correctly when he is using the 'Metro' version of IE in full screen mode. It looks like he can use more time than I have allocated for him when he does that.

Can Katie confirm that Windows 8 Metro applications are also counted towards the allocated time limit?

Thanks.

Re: Time not counted in Windows 8 'Metro' mode?

Hi MYF,

The program currently supports web filtering and we're actively looking into expanding the other family safety features, like time monitoring in Metro mode.

MYF, Norton Family monitors time if the the child  goes back to desktop (traditional windows desktop) mode in Windows 8.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Time not counted in Windows 8 'Metro' mode?

I am just surprised that Norton says it is supporting Windows 8 but time limit is not counted in some scenarios. My 8 year old can figure that out in a day and use the computer day and night with no restrictions.

I am a bit disappointed in this since time restriction is the major feature most parents are looking for.

When will this Windows 8 bug be fixed?

Re: Time not counted in Windows 8 'Metro' mode?

Hi MYF,

The Norton Family  supports the traditional windows desktop mode in Windows 8 fully.

When we get any news for the additional features on Windows 8, we will post a message in the forum.

Thanks,

Katie

Thanks Katie
