Time Restriction blocks child before time limit

I have my son set up for 5 hours per day. I checked the box so it should only be tracking time he is active on the computer. He checks e-mail and is on the system in the morning briefly. When he gets home he gets blocked after about an hour. Why? He has definitely not been on the system for 5 hours. Nothing I do seems to correct this. I have him log out completely when not using the system, but even if he does not, he isn't active on it. What is causing Norton to track time when the system is not being used.

Thanks for any help

Re: Time Restriction blocks child before time limit

Hi ka0430,

Does he  had any browsers open or any programs running while he was not using the PC?  If a program is running, then the program sees activities on the PC and counts that as the PC being used.

How do you set up his Time blocking period at Settings -> Time?

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Time Restriction blocks child before time limit

Hi Katie,

I have him log out and close all browsers. His time is only open from 6am to 7:30 am and then 3:00pm until 7pm.

Thanks

Ken

Re: Time Restriction blocks child before time limit

ka0430,

I worked on a case which there is an application on a user's desktop and it's active periodically.

Do you see any activities from 7am - 3PM at Activity -> Web (I assume he is not at home using the PC and no one else uses his account on the PC neither)

Thanks,

Katie

Thanks Katie
