Trojan detected on mac

I did a manual virus scan after I suspected a virus on my computer.  It detected a trojan horse, but showed that repair failed.  Now what?  I tried to download the power erase tool, but I am assuming it does not work for mac.  Please help.

Re: Trojan detected on mac

Sorry for the problems, we're still working on the repair issue for these.  Please see my instructions for manual removal on this thread:

Re: Trojan detected on mac

I followed the manual removal instructions but when I redid the scan, the virus was still detected under the same user.  Any other ways to manually remove?

Re: Trojan detected on mac

I may have made a false assumption about the location of the trojan.  If you view the history (recent activities) in the NAV application, does it show the path of the infected file?

Re: Trojan detected on mac

There are 2:

users\(myname)\Library\Caches\Java\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\jvmaudio.jar-5d0105c8-5c849532.zip

users\(myname)\Library\Caches\Java\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\jvmseria.jar-2f8ffa6a-2d4fc48f.zip

the virus does not seem to be doing anything, which I assume is the perk of a mac,  but I am afraid it may pass along or I may accidentally authenticate it.

Thanks

Re: Trojan detected on mac

OK, then my instructions need a minor tweak.  Use this line instead of the one from the other thread:

sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/Java/cache/javapi

(my incorrect assumption was that they were in the 6.0 folder under ~/Library/Caches/Java/cache)
