Trying to Understand Norton Ghost 14 as compared to 12.

1) I am running Ghost  12 on my older computer and Ghost 14 on my newest computer.  I notice that the Ghost 12 creates  at least 12   files of 4,194,159 KB.  Ghost 14 creates just one base file.  Is this

normal or is there a way to get  Ghost 12 to include all info into just one file?

Is there a cheap upgrade path from 12 to 14.  I have two computers and two versions.

ynotadlog,

Is the partition containing your 12 .v2i files formatted as FAT32?

Hi ynotadlog,

As Brian_K has pointed out, please check the file system on the destination drive where you are saving the backups. FAT32 file system has a maximum file size limit of 4 GB. So if the destination drive is FAT32, the image file will be automatically split into 4 GB files.

If I understand you correctly you have both Ghost 12 and Ghost 14. You can install 14 on the Ghost 12 PC and activate with your current Ghost 14 product key.

You replied "You can install 14 on the Ghost 12 PC and activate with your current Ghost 14 product key.". Then I'd have two Ghost 14 installs. My understanding of the license agreement is that only one install is allowed under each license.

Do you mean to say that I can Install Ghost 14 on the computer that now has 12 and use the Ghost 12 product key to activate  the14 version?

The Ghost 12 key will not activate Ghost 14.

What about the license issue?

If you want to install your v14 on another computer, you need to purchase another license.
