I really like to see secure VPN start automatically when Windows 10 is starting up, so that browsing is always secure. Why is that feature not part of Norton 360? Right now you always have to go to Norton 360 to turn it on manually, and since I belong to the human race, I forget half of the times. Please change that.

My solution for now: I do not use secure VPN at all. Instead I subscribe to TunnleBear, a VPN program that does have the feature to automatically start when Win 10 starts.

Norton VPN is not a good product. I have another VPN provider and it starts whenever I boot or reboot my computer.Yes, i forget all the times and I do not rely on Norton VPN to protect my computer. Instead, I am using a third party VPN to protect.

Good idea Charlie Norton VPN randomly announces that VPN needs to be 'enabled' which leads to a non-functional Enable button/icon
Furthermore, when I take a screenshot the file doesn't download to this complaint because Norton dictates: "The selected file Screen Shot 2019-11-18 at 5.51.17 AM.png cannot be uploaded. Only files with the following extensions are allowed: txt, pdf, zip.

Norton VPN is at its infancy and it is provided free with Norton 360 as a total package, though Norton VPN is also sold as a separate product independently.
Norton is using subscribers to test their VPN product and providing feedback to them. In other words, we are the guinea pigs. We should be paid to do the testing.
Norton has a strong reputation for ANTI-virus and internet security but not for VPN. DO NOT TRUST NORTON VPN, it is not reliable. At any point, your data are not protected from hackers (or government agencies) and you have no idea why you are exposed. Norton will disclaim responsibility for their failure and you are screwed.

I agree with your suggestion. There are a multitude of good, reputable VPN vendors to choose from. They will cost you each month, but they have more transparency than Norton, and as you suggest, they will start when Windows first starts.
I have a problem with Norton's VPN that angers me. It was installed on my PC, without even asking if I had a current VPN provider, It installed anyway, and had to turn the Norton VPN service off. It's a bad idea to run multiple VPN's. They assumed that I needed one, even without warning me, or giving me the option to not install the VPN.
That was more infromation than needed, but I do agree that a VPN, as a separate entity, is the better choice.

A reputable, third party VPN vendor will tell you about its functionality, options, turning it on and off, killswitch, launch on system startup, connect on launch, notifications, thier name servers, thier logs, connection type, local and remote ports, encryption options, and config method. Do you have access to any of these with Norton VPN? The lack of transparency should arouse a high-deree of suspicion.
I have used Norton / Symantec products since 1992. I also agree that AV / AM is what they do best. The level of intrusiveness has increased exponentially. It's mind-numbing. It is the "new" normal. But I would put my helmet and seatbelt on and get ready for the mayhem in the near-future; It will not get any better than it is today.

Like I mentioned in the other post, looks like that option is for Windows only!! I am using the latest version of Norton 360 for macOS, I don't see that option!!
