UBer Rider App not compatible with Norton 360 for Android

Have a Google Pixel 5g (Android w/latest update) with Norton 360 and Norton VPV (both for android) installed. Attempted to install Uber app (rider) on the phone but could not receive Uber's short code to validate my setup. Uber claimed my provider did not support short codes. However, When I installed the same Uber app on another Google Pixel 5g (with the same provider (ATT) and plan) but which did not have any Norton product installed on it, it worked. Believe Norton is the culprit. Suggestions/solutions???

Shut off the VPN and things might work OK.

Did you check on both apps to see the VPN was off?

If you have both 360 and Norton Secure VPN installed, you should uninstall the standalone Secure VPN and just use the VPN feature of 360.

How does Uber send this short code? Email, or SMS?

Tried all of the above, 360 VPN is OFF, Uninstalled the standalone Norton VPN. Uber uses SMS to send short codes

Any other suggestions B4 I rip this piece of Norton shit off my android phone!!!!

Check in the 360 app's main screen to see if you have a section for SMS Security. If so, open your messaging app on the device and look for a Filtering option. Look in that section for messages filtered by Norton 360. Check the different sections, especially the junk section to see if your Uber messages are getting sent there. I have no experience with having received a junk or promotional SMS, but I would suggest that if there is a message there, tap on that and look for an option to mark it a not junk.

Am using Norton 360 for android. It does not have a section for SMS security or controls for SMS, only a selection to put the Norton SMS Security icon over the app being used. I checked the junk/spam/blocked file in my google text app, Uber codes NOT being sent sent there.

Re: UBer Rider App not compatible with Norton 360 for Android

The latest version of 360 Android , ver 5.31.0.220323007  does have the SMS filtering.  See here.   https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.symantec.mobilesecurity

Although if you have already checked your messaging app's junk filters this new version may not matter.  Try uninstalling 360 from the phone with the problem. Restart the phone and then test to see if you get the codes.

Alternatively, you could try installing 360 on the phone that does not have it now, and see if the codes start getting blocked.

Either way can help with a diagnosis of what is happening.
