Unable to Activate Norton Security

I have Norton Security as part of my Norton Core purchase, however I am unable to activate and sign into my Windows Tablet.

  • I downloaded Norton Security from Norton.com > Log In > My Norton > Download Norton > Agree and Download
  • Install it on my Windows 10 Tablet
  • When I try to login, I am unable to type from the on screen keyboard.  I know I can type because I am able to type to a notepad, just not the sign in screen to activate my Norton.
  • I even try to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the tablet to type the password, but no text is showing up as I type on the login screen.
  • This is a tablet running Windows 10, Bluetooth is the only way I can connect a keyboard.  I can’t connect a physical keyboard to it as it doesn’t have a port for a physical keyboard.
  • I know its not a user error because I have 7 other device (mix of Android tablet and PC) which I am able to activate with no problem.  The PCs are also running Windows 10 but they all have physical keyboard.
  • I even try uninstall and reinstalling Norton on the tablet to see if the problem goes away.  No luck, still can’t activate

Re: Unable to Activate Norton Security

@YiuSanHo  Make sure you are using an admin account on the windows 10 tablet and properly logged in as such. Start your tablet and take it OUT of tablet mode as in the other thread's suggestion. Then use a stylus to try inputting your information. Forego the Bluetooth keyboard. Let us know if that fixes your issue.

Re: Unable to Activate Norton Security

@SoulAsylum thanks for the reply.  here are my answer to your questions:

- I have admin access to the tablet

- I try booting the tablet directly from tablet mode then take it out of tablet mode, it does't work, same thing I can't input password

- Go to settings > System > Tablet Mode, disable tablet mode, reboot, same problem keyboard can't type.

my tablet does not have a stylus, so I need to use the onscreen keyboard.  both case does not work.  I even have a notepad sitting next to the input screen to make sure the onscreen keyboard is working.  when I click on the notepad, I can clearly type in the notepad, but when I click on the activation, it doesn't work.  also to note, I am able to switch between the Sign In and Create an Account screen.  both does not allow or accept input from my onscreen keyboard.  Same problem still unsolvable.

My tablet is a Asus VivoTab:  https://www.asus.com/us/Tablets/ASUS_VivoTab_Smart/. Upgraded to Windows 10 as part of the free Upgrade Microsoft have a while back

Re: Unable to Activate Norton Security

Hello again!! The tablet you have according to the manufacturer website supports Bluetooth 4.0 and Asus NFC devices such as keyboards. Check your input device drivers for an issue using the device manager and try updating the drivers for your on screen keyboard. That seems to be the most obvious issue.

When all else fails remove and reinstall your product from this link:
