Unable to install Norton WiFi Privacy on my MacBook Pro using High Sierra

I am not able to install Norton WiFi security on my MacBook Pro. High Sierra. I also could not install it when it was still Sierra.  I have installed it on my iPhone 6 and it works.

Any help will be appreciated

Sorry I have no experience with Macs.

I would contact Norton Support and see what they can suggest.   www.norton.com/contactcs

Hi @SP ROSENTHAL,

Thanks for reporting in Norton Community Forums. Are you getting any error message when tried to install app?

Re: Unable to install Norton WiFi Privacy on my MacBook Pro using High Sierra

It was not intuitively obvious that Norton WiFi Privacy would not launch until a restart of the operating system was accomplished.  I subsequently discovered that this is also the case for my Windows 7 installation.  There was no clear indication during the installation process that this is ncessary for either Mac Sierra, Mac High Sierra or Windows that a restart is necessary. There were no error messages.

Once lauched on my Macbook it was not clear how to hide the setting panel (click anyplace else on screen). It was not clear that I needed click on the tiny icon on the top of the screen to open the panel. I think for windows there is probably a tiny icon in the rigt lower corner of the screen.

It would have been very beneficial when installing the program if there was a prompt to retart the computer, or a notification that Norton WiFi Privacy would not launch until the machine was restarted.

Thanks,

SPR

Thanks for letting us know. Windows users are used to having to restart to try to fix almost any issue. Maybe Macs are going that way now.

Re: Unable to install Norton WiFi Privacy on my MacBook Pro using High Sierra

I have almost totally abandoned Windows 7 and 10 because I have found the Mac be be less problematic. I admit that I am out of practice fixing Windows issues.

It would have been very helpful if the Norton WiFi Privacy installion had informed the user that a restart is neccessary, rather than assuming everyone knows that this must be done.

The installation need to be edited so there is a correspondance between what is displayed and what has to be done. The prompts seem to be for a different program install and/or operating system.

Thanks,
