Unable to retrieve activities

I'm having problems with my monitoring since a few days now. Every time I try to check the activities it just gives me that unable to retrieve message. Most of the time it's also blank so does that mean it's not monitoring anything at all?

No activity for Last 7 Days

That's what pops up all the time now. What can I do?

Hi CJ03,

Do other functions work, like if you try to access a blocked website using your child's monitored account, does the website get blocked?

I shall try to block some sites today. I mostly use it for monitoring. I wanted to add that the usual symbol to let you know that that person is online is gone too (the green online symbol).

Tried blocking things. Mainly google.com,yahoo.com and wikipedia.org so that I can see if it would work. It only blocked google, I am able to search and go to a gun site even with weapons crossed out in the category.

Hi CJ03,

Can I assume you have done the following..

Select the option "Block the site" at Settings -> Web online

Add google.com, yahoo.com and wikipedia.org to the block list for a child and save the settings

Log onto the PC as the monitored child and visit these three websites and only google.com gets blocked

Hi CJ03,

Please make sure you don’t have other parental control products used on the PCs.  Also, If you have turned on the parental controls feature from your PCs, please go to Start -> Control Panel -> Parental Controls to turn off parental controls and see if it helps.  Other parental control products may interfere with the enforcement of Norton Family.

If you don't use any other parental control programs, and you are interested in having a remote session with me, please send me a private message in the forum, so we can work on this.

No, I did not turn other parental controls on.  I use this to monitor mostly so I didn't think I'd need anything else.  The activities are now showing after I uninstalled the program and then reinstalling it once again. I shall observe how it does in the next few days.

It is now monitoring but the web and search data being provided is always 2 days late. As of writing this it only has up to 2/11 8:37am. Any ideas as to why?

Hi CJ03,

The Norton Family servers capture the Web activities correctly, but it looks like it takes longer than expected to make the logs appear on the website for your account. 

Can you please send your Norton Family account email address to me by private message in forum, so we can check into this?

Update: As of today the data is about 5 days late. It is showing items from 2/13.

Hi CJ03,

Thanks for the update.  We are looking into the issue.

We have released an update for Windows Client of Norton Family with build number 2.6.0.61 through Automatic LiveUpdate. Your Norton Family should have the latest update.  

To make sure you have the latest version,  right click on the Norton Family icon in the system tray and select “About Norton Family”.  The latest version Norton Family is 2.6.0.61

Yes NF is current. It still says unable to retrieve activities. There is no indication that the PC is online. The same problems I have had before I uninstalled/re-installed NF.
