Unable to use unallocated licences

I love how my Nortons says I have used only 3 out of 5 licences, yet when I go to log-in and install on another device, it comes up with no license. Obviously counting and recognising numbers of licenses isn't a Norton strong point.

What product are you trying to install? And on what device and OS version are you trying to install on?

What product are you trying to install? - Norton 360, Version 22.16.2.22

And on what device and OS version are you trying to install on? - Apple iPhone SE, OS Version: 12.0.1

Re: Unable to use unallocated licences

Do you specifically have the Multi Device Version of 360? If not, you are not entitled to install on Mobile devices. You might as well upgrade to the newer Norton Security Deluxe product. As long as you have been keeping your 360 up to date, it is functionally identical to the newer Norton Security products, except for the name displayed in the product.

You can contact Norton Support to have them change you from 360 to Norton Security Deluxe. Then you will be able to install on your mobile devices.     www.norton.com/contactcs

Re: Unable to use unallocated licences

Well my version of Norton 360 states that 3 out of 5 licenses have been used - which by my very limited grasp of mathematics leaves 2 licenses free to use on other devices. However trying to install one of these unused licenses ends up with a result of no license available. Obviously Norton 360 defaults to indicate that 5 licenses are available regardless if all 5 licenses actually exist or not. Pretty poor form in my opinion. And why should I have to pay additionally to install the remaining two licenses - if they do in fact actually exist.

Re: Unable to use unallocated licences

Did you specifically purchase the Multi Device version of 360? That was the only version that allowed activating the Mobile products.

If you did not purchase the MD version, you were allowed to install on 5 Windows PCs. That is what the license was for. If you were to try to install on another Windows PC, you would not see the block message and the install would work.

As I suggested above, just contact Norton Support and they can switch your subscription to the new Norton Security product.

NOTE   If you use the backup feature of your 360, you would have to upgrade to the Norton Security Premium version, which will allow installation on 10 devices. That is the only version that supports the backup feature. If you do not use the backup, you can use the Deluxe version for 5 devices.
