Updates and Patches
I mentioned this in a prior thread about a problem that existed with live update early this AM, but I am afraid it is now buries there and won't be seen.
I have a newly installed version of NS. I installed it late last night and updated it. During the update process I received two patches. For a variety of reasons I decided to uninstall NS to be reinstalled this morning. I used the Norton Removal Tool.After I heard that the live update issue was fixed i did a clean reinstall of NS with the Norton Removal Tool.
When I reinstalled it the Live update process was failing by not completing update downloads. It was an issue acknowledged by support and was quickly fixed.
On my clean reinstall of NS after the Live Update Issue was fixed I did not receive any patches during the update process.
Is this because they changed the downloaded installer file to include the patches?
Is there any way to check if I have installed what was formally installed via 2 patches? In other words, is there a way to check that I have acompletely updated NS.
I was scolded a few weeks ago on this forum for trying to see if I had received a patch by checking the version number. Is there any way to tell whether or not I still need the patches??? This morning I do not have a lot of confidence in the Live Update Service because of its failure for a few hours early this AM.(Update down loads were not being completed.)
