Updating to new version but with Greek bought licence key?

Hello all,

Great to read that the new version of NIS 2012 is now available, but I have to clarify what road I should go down with upgrading. I am using a Greek bought licence key but using the English version, do I take it that it's the same as last year in that I will have to uninstall the 2011 version and then re install the new NIS 2012, as opposed to going to the 'support' page and clicking 'New version check'?

Would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me.

My specs are W7 Home Prem 64 bit, IE 9, no other paid for security programmes installed.

Hi As fare as I know an upgrade should not be any problem you should be able to do that from here www.norton.com/nuc just follow the on screen guide. Or you can download the English NIS 2012 here www.norton.com/uk/nis2012 Best Regards, Jespersen

Re: Updating to new version but with Greek bought licence key?

Thanks for your reply, the links are very helpful.

The reason I asked the original question was last year in the same circumstances, was advised to uninstall as opposed to using the auto upgrade facility as the auto way would detect the 'Greek key' and download the Greek language version as opposed to my English language one installed now. Was wondering if they have changed this procedure?

I may wait a while till someone else may clarify this for me otherwise I shall just uninstall and use the download link you provided for me.

Re: Updating to new version but with Greek bought licence key?

Hi I would say try the update center first the greek NIS2012 is not released yet i think they should have it on friday so it should inform you that you have the newest version in that case we would be sure how the update center looks at your installed product as fare as I know it looks at the installed product hence you should get the English NIS2012 from the update center. If the update center say you have the newest version just direct download it from the other link. BR, Jespersen

Re: Updating to new version but with Greek bought licence key?

Just did as per your message and it auto updated very nicely to the English version. I shall do the same to my son's pc  in the next room tomorrow morning, he has the same set up as my pc. When you said the Greek version wouldn't be out till Friday I did this straight away. Mant thanks for your guidance and help.
