Upgrade to 2009

Before I attempt the following could some one assure me that it is correct to download the trial version for 2009 from here:

http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_com/nis09/ and to install this version (2009) and using my existing product key for 2008 to activate what's left on my subscription, I only put on 2008 yesterday so I still have 364 days left.

Re: Upgrade to 2009

Yup, seems to be fine. Can you uninstall your NIS08 in 'Add/Remove Programs' (or 'All Programs' in Vista) prior to installing NIS09.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Upgrade to 2009

Hi rifles,

Good advice from johna as always.

If I may add to johna's post, once you have uninstalled NIS 2008, you should also uninstall Symantec Live Update and Live Update Notifier (if present) as these items are not required for NIS 2009.

Best Wishes.
