Upgraded to Norton 360 Premium but contract shorter!

I'm a bit confused!  I had a subscription for Norton Deluxe which I renewed in August 2021 for 2 years (renewable 9/10/2023).  I requested to be upgraded to Norton 360 Premium which is more expensive, but the renewal date is January 2023 and not October 2023!  Can anyone explain this? I don't mind paying the difference between the 2 subscriptions but find it strange that I lose 6 months subscription??  thanks

Re: Upgraded to Norton 360 Premium but contract shorter!

Reads like the upgrade Key used is for one year term.
Reads like you requested an upgrade for the remainder of your current two year term and received an upgrade for one year term.
Did you purchase new Key from Norton direct?
Did you purchase new Key from third party?

Have you restarted machine?
Have you run Help -> Subscription Status to sync with Norton servers?

Note: new Key starts new term.

Was upgrade request made thru Norton Official Support?
Was upgrade Key purchased from Norton direct sales?

Re: Upgraded to Norton 360 Premium but contract shorter!

Thanks - I'm sure I purchased the 'original' subscription directly from Norton. I was assured during the 'chat' that the same dates would be carried forward to new subscription.  I've just logged off again - had an error message logging on this morning and lo and behold the 'new' subscription is the same expiry date as the 'old' one!

Thanks for the point about re-starting the machine - even though it'd had been turned off yesterday afternoon long after the 'upgrade'.. but that seems to have 'updated' my account details for Norton.

thanks
