URGENT!!!!!!! ALL INTERNET BLOCKED SINCE UPGRADE

Have just upgraded all my home PC's and Laptops as advised to when trying to amend time settings. Now none of these (even unmonitored accounts) can access internet except online family settings site!!! The ONLY way to access internet is to remove product.

I would appreciate a quick response

Hi  mini-man,

1. What security product(s) do you have on PC?  Did you install any new security product(s) on the PC lately?

2.  What browser and version do you use on the PC?

3.  Was the Norton Safety Minder installed successfully on the PC (do you see an active NSM icon in the system tray)?

4. Did you get a chance to reboot the PC to see if it helps?

I have the same issue.  I am running windows 7 home, 32 bit.  I have avast running for antivirus.  I did have zonealarm and removed it due to a message that it was not compatable with the new norton family version.  When I installed the new client, all access to the internet was blocked except for the norton site.   My admin account on that pc also cannot get to the internet. As soon as I uninstall norton, the internet access is fine. I tried reinstalling 3 or 4 times with the same result. We have been using the old version for some time now and we really have come to rely on it. It has been a great product.  Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hi,

I am running Avast antivirus. I was using zonealarm firewall, but when I upgraded the norton family client, it indicated that it was not compatible and needed to be removed. So now I am using the built in windows firewall.  Windows defender is also running.

I am having the same issues, except the Chrome browser works, IE & Firefox do not, unless it is the Norton Online Family website.

Upgraded PC to Windows 7 Pro

Using latest Avast

Windows Firewall

Latest versions of all browsers

Again, Google Chrome works (don't know if it is being protected by Norton Family)

Uninstalled Online Family Safety and everything works fine, but I need the protection. 

Please post resolution ASAP!!

I have the same issue. If I Uninstall SafetyMinder then I am able to access the internet. When I re-install SafetyMinder the only site I can access is nortonfamilyonline.

My OS is Windows 7 64bits.

I have exactly the same issue, and this happen immediately after the Windows 7 update.   I have two PCs and they are both affected after the updates.

OS: Windows 7 64 bit, Running Avast.

These were the updates applied:

KB980846

KB982670

KB982519

KB982526

KB981078

Now, I have to uninstall safety minder before I can have any web access.    Ping and other net access works fine.

Same issue here.  Two machines running the Online Family version 2.0.0.42 on Win7 Home Premium (64-bit).  Sporadic internet access, blue screens, and other bad behavior.  Both machines are fine since uninstalling Online Family Norton.

Any news on this?  Newer release *or* a fix for this issue??

To answer the earlier questions...

- Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)

- Microsoft Security Essentials (latest updates)

- Use Firefox 3.6.4 and IE8, primarily

- No other new programs installed recently

- Reboot did *not* help

It sounds like a compatibility issue.  Please check the link below where shows the security products that the program is not compatible with.
