use of vpn generates excessive activity warnings from Facebook and Google

It appears that when I use Norton VPN, for reasons I do not understand, I receive warnings from Facebook and Google of "suspicious activity" or "excessive activity". Is that common with VPN?

These messages are just trying to protect your account. Using a VPN, obviously makes it appear you are not at your actual location. When a web site sees you trying to access their site from a location they do not expect for you, they put up additional safety features to ensure it is not just someone trying to hack your account.
