User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

While adjusting settings, scanning and checking things out as I am new to this program (NS) coming from NIS. I noticed that closing the user interface was slow to close. Also sometimes even though the window had focus I'd have to left click it and try to close the window again or click on settings twice before it opened. Basically a lot of extra clicking and response times to clicks are slow.

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

Just curious, this situation, coupled with your "no safe search" situation and the solution for the safe search was a Norton reinstall in the past (the thread you linked to in your other post), any chance you got a corrupted install?  Perhaps the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool may help and if not then the clean install using the Norton removal Tool?

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

Are you using Windows 8/8.1? If so, please check if there are any updates for the Framework and graphics adapter. If any, update them, restart the computer and check.

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

@yank I've already tried to run NRT and install NS again. It didn't fix either issue. @venkatesh_b There are no updates from Windows and I recently updated my graphics adapter. ---- This didn't happen with NIS. Even Identity Safe settings open oddly. The window opens transparent at the top of the screen and then centers itself and appears.

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

Thank you for trying that. Can you please try to use the program with the default display driver by disabling graphics adapter and check how the product works? If there is no lag, please help us with the model number of the graphics adapter. TIA

Hi SGFC,

I remember one of your old threat where you were having problems with the video card.
By chance, have you ever tried to change your video card just to check?

Here is the link.

What do you mean by default display driver? I have an nVidia GeForce GT 430. By the way I am on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.

@Sandro

No I didn't buy a new video card. the same "problem" still exists. that older post probably isn't a real problem. because everything is fine while at the computer and after I return.

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

By disabling your nVidia graphics card, it will run on the display driver that is included in the operating system. To do this, go to Device Manager (Press Win key and R simultaneously and type devmgmt.msc in the run window). Expand display adapters, right click on your nVidia graphics card and choose disable. Your screen resolution will decrease and the fonts will be bigger; which is normal. Once this is done, try using the Norton product and check how it works. TIA

Re: User Interface Unresponsive and Slow

I believe this problem went away on it's own. Today when I click "X" or "Settings" and try various options the response seems normal.

Thanks for all of the input.
